Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Kitchen Table Guides website and anything you buy from it. By placing an order, you agree to them. Please read them before you check out — all sales are final.

1. Who we are

Kitchen Table Guides is a small independent publisher of digital parenting and household guides. Our store runs on Shopify, and checkout and payment are handled by Shopify's systems. Throughout these terms, "we" and "us" mean Kitchen Table Guides, and "you" means the person placing the order.

2. What you are buying

Every product we sell is a digital file — a PDF guide or workbook. Nothing is shipped and no physical item is included. When you buy a guide, you are not buying the copyright in it. You are buying a permanent, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it under the terms below.

3. How you may use the guides

You may:

  • Read the guide on any device you own
  • Print as many copies as your own household needs
  • Share it within your household, including with a co-parent living in another home
  • Print or share individual worksheets with a caregiver, teacher, or therapist working directly with your own child

You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the file, in whole or in part
  • Post it publicly, upload it to a file-sharing or content site, or send it to a mailing list or group
  • Reproduce substantial portions of the text in your own paid or free materials
  • Use it for classroom, group, clinical, or commercial purposes without a license from us
  • Remove or alter copyright notices, or claim the work as your own

Teachers, therapists, support groups, and workplaces are genuinely welcome — get in touch and we will arrange a group or professional license.

4. Delivery

Your download link is emailed to the address you enter at checkout, normally within a minute of payment. It is your responsibility to enter a working email address. If your link does not arrive or does not work, contact us and we will fix it at no cost — that part is on us.

5. Payment, pricing, and tax

Prices are shown in US dollars and may change at any time; the price shown when you order is the price that applies to that order. Displayed prices do not include sales tax. Where sales tax or an equivalent digital-goods tax applies to your location, it is calculated and added at checkout, and the total you approve before paying is the full amount you will be charged. We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing or description errors, and to cancel an order affected by one, in which case we will refund the amount charged. We do not see or store your card details.

6. Refunds

All sales are final. Because the guides are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or partial credits. This applies to individual guides and to bundles, and it applies whether or not the file has been opened. Broken downloads are a separate matter and are always our responsibility to resolve. Our full refund policy forms part of these terms.

7. Nature of the content

Our guides are practical, experience-based educational resources. They are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice, and they do not create a professional relationship of any kind. They do not diagnose anything and they do not replace care from a qualified professional who knows you and your family. You remain responsible for decisions you make about your household, your money, and your children.

Where a guide touches on safety — car seats, sleep environments, allergies, medication, mobility equipment, food handling, or household hazards — the manufacturer's instructions and your local safety standards take precedence over anything we write. If you are worried about a child's development or safety, or about your own health, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.

8. Intellectual property

All text, layouts, worksheets, printables, and designs in our guides and on this site remain the property of Kitchen Table Guides and are protected by copyright. Our name, logo, and brand are proprietary. The license in section 3 is the only permission granted.

9. Your account and conduct

You agree not to interfere with the site, attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, use automated tools to extract content from it, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may cancel an order or decline to sell to anyone who breaches these terms, and we may revoke a license that is being used in breach of section 3.

10. Availability and changes

We may add, update, withdraw, or reprice guides at any time. We may also update these terms; the version published at the time of your order is the version that applies to it. Where a guide is updated after purchase, we aim to send existing buyers the update, but we do not guarantee it.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to any product or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing limits any rights you have under consumer law in your own country that cannot be waived by agreement.

12. Age

Our guides are written for adults. By buying from us you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, whichever is greater.

13. Privacy

How we collect, use, and protect your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision is severed and the rest remain in full force.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota — subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
